Drum Rise is a segment of "harmony" that gives voice to the evolution of the drum set dating from the Civil War to the Harlem Renaissance. As there is an influx of immigrants coming into America, and waves of migration of people from city to city, instruments remain as the connection that people use to communicate and express themselves with one another. The different instruments poured into jazz results in the evolution of the drumset. As the people and issues in America diversify, the music follows.
